Stolenpod

After watching 'Kingdom of Heaven,' I discovered my iPod had been stolen from my car. Someone opened the window and took it, leaving me frustrated. I hope my insurance covers it, but regardless, I'm considering getting a new iPod or exploring alternatives, though none seem to match its usability. I've learned to keep expensive gadgets out of sight.

On Friday I went to the Cinema with some friends, we watched Kingdom of Heaven, really a great movie - although I don't like some of the tidbits of that story... but that's not the reason for this entry:

When we went back to our car, I immediately realized that something was missing:

My iPod (40GB 3. Generation)!

I connect the iPod to my Car Stereo with a small Jack->Cassette Adaptor, and the Jack-End of the Adaptor-Cable was.. empty. There was no iPod anymore, nor a Jack, the cable had been cut, the iPod had been stolen. The next thing we realized was that the right Car-Window was open. Someone had managed to open the Car-Window from the outside (probably using some secret jedi thievery technics), and stole my iPod :(

I hope that my Insurance Company will pay this, I just got that iPod one year ago, and it was such a hot gadget.

I'll definately buy a new iPod whether the insurance pays or not. I'm playing with the thought of buying a nice iPod photo, I haven't decided yet though.

I  investigated some other manufacturers products too (iRiver, Creative etc), but none of those work as perfect with my Mac/iTunes as the iPod did, and most of these have an akward usability, none of them can beat the iPod's Click Wheel, especially when navigating through 40gb of music :)

However, I learned something this time:

Never leave sexy or expensive gadgets visible in your car. I'll keep that in mind now.

And damn, I already miss the iPod :(
